Lid Surgery

Excess Upper Lid Skin (dermatochalasis)
The upper lid skin can sag with age and cause various symptoms such as “heaviness” and “hooding” which blocks the peripheral vision. An in-office procedure can remove this excess skin (Blepharoplasty). The procedure is performed with local anesthesia without discomfort.
In-turning Lower Lid (Entropion)
The lower lids, due to aging changes can undergo various changes. When the lower lid lid rolls in to the eye (entropion) the lashes can rub on the eye causing redness and discomfort. An in-office procedure (entropion repair) can restore the normal position of the lid. The procedure is performed with local anesthesia without discomfort.

Out-turning Lower Lid (Ectropion)
When the lower lid lid rolls “out” from the eye (ectropion) the eye become exposed to air and dryness, causing redness and discomfort. An in-office procedure (ectropion repair) can restore the normal position of the lid. The procedure is performed with local anesthesia without discomfort.

Tear Drain Malposition (Punctal Eversion)
There are many causes for tearing of the eye. One of these causes is that the tear drain (punctum) rolls “out” and tears cannot find their way to the drain. . An in-office procedure can restore the normal position of the tear drain (puncta). The procedure is performed with local anesthesia without discomfort.

Tear Drain Enlargement (2 snip procedure)
There are many causes for tearing of the eye. One of these causes is that the tear drain (punctum) due to aging, is that the tear drain (punctum) can grow shut. An in-office procedure can restore the normal opening of the tear drain (punctum). The procedure is performed with local anesthesia without discomfort.

Drooping Lid (Ptosis)
There are many causes for a lid to droop (ptosis). Several of these causes can be remedied by in-office lid surgery (ptosis repair) to “lift” the lid to the normal position. The procedure is performed with local anesthesia without discomfort.

Tearing

In Office Evaluation of Tear Drainage System
There are many causes for tearing of the eye. One of these causes is the blockage of the tear drain which travels from the lowerlid to the nose (Nasolacrimal Duct obstruction). We can perform in-office evaluation of this system (dilation and irrigation of the punctum) to make sure the drainage system is working properly.

Basic Tear Secretion Testing (Schrimer Test)
Many medical conditions can affect the amount and quality of tear secretion form the lacrimal gland. A simple in-office test can assess if the lacrimal gland is producing enough tear to assure ocular comfort (the Basic Tear Secretion test with Schrimer’s Test strips)

Macular Degeneration Screening

Our doctors use the latest technology to assist in the screening and diagnosis of Macular Degeneration. The Cirrus HD-OCT (Zeiss) is the latest technology to assist in early diagnosis of Macular Degeneration. The doctor at times will order photographs which is performed on our Zeiss Fundus Camera.

Diabetic Eye Disease Screening

Our doctors use the latest technology to assist in the screening and diagnosis of diabetic damage to the retina (Diabetic Retinopathy). The Cirrus HD-OCT (Zeiss) is the latest technology to assist in monitoring progression of diabetic changes. The doctor at times, will order photographs which is performed on our Zeiss Fundus Camera.
